Transportation in Huntley

When I moved out of my parent’s home I was ready to buy a little condo of my own. I had just gotten my first real job and finally had the funds to be able to buy my own place. Even though I got my condo at a good price I wasn’t making much money, so I couldn’t afford to buy a car. Resorting to my second option, I bought a second hand scooter. During the summer it served me well. It was gas efficient, and I never had a problem finding parking.
As soon as it started to get cold I knew I would have to find other options. Because Huntley is small, it doesn’t have a large public transportation system. It does have two Metra lines that provide service through Huntley to and from Chicago, however, there are no train lines that run throughout Huntley.
There is also no bus service. The only other form of public transportation in Huntley is the PACE vanpool system. This is what I ended up using for transportation during the winter months. It is actually a really great program. The PACE vanpool is for people who want to vanpool to and from work.
There is a small fee, but it is still less expensive than driving your own car and it is good for the environment.
It is also very reliable and carefree. I eventually signed up to be a driver for PACE. As a PACE driver you get many benefits such as free rides, 300 personal miles, free gas and carwashes, full coverage insurance and other benefits. I would vanpool people to work and then go to my own job. Although Huntley doesn’t have many public transportation options, the ones it has work great.
